Metallica and Orion Music + More have announced a number of new details about the inaugural festival!
First, fans will be able to soak up more than 30 years of Metallica history while drowning themselves in memorabilia at the Metallica Museum & Graffiti Art Expo. Memorabilia includes the band’s rare guitars, drum kits, stage props, and tour paraphernalia . . . no, not that kind of paraphernalia; I’m talking vintage t-shirts and posters. On display will also be select pieces of Pushhead’s original Metallica artwork — yeah, that’s badass. Oh, and don’t forget about the graffiti demos. The guys have invited some of the East Coast’s most impressive graffiti crews to demo their own signature styles at the Orion’s Graffiti Art Expo.
Next, hit the lights and catch some flicks (or I guess I should say films . . . sorry Lars). Part of what set Orion Music + More apart from other festivals is that it highlights the individual passions of each Metallica member. So share Lars Ulrich’s passion for film at the Hit The Lights Film tent. Each movie has been hand-picked by Lars, and each movie has a special connection to Lars and/or Metallica. And to further enhance your experience, Lars himself will be introducing every single movie over the entire festival weekend. How’s that for an immersive experience?
Finally, check out Ktulu’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Emporium, which will showcase over 15 vendors each with massive collections of vinyl, posters, gear, and more. Make sure you leave Orion Music + More with your own piece of rock music history!
